What it is for
A rapid-acting (mealtime) insulin that controls the sugar rise after food.
How to take it
Inject just before a meal, within 5 to 10 minutes, or as the doctor advises. Skip the dose if you skip the meal, unless told otherwise.
Common side effects
Low blood sugar, especially if the meal is delayed.
Call your doctor if
Repeated low sugars.
Sugar stays high after meals.
Take care
Never inject and then delay the meal.
